Diamonds International — Crown of Light and More

Diamonds International in Cozumel is a must-visit. This is where you will find the Crown of Light — a 90-facet, US-patented diamond cut that sparkles like nothing else. They also have a Diamond Bar where you can build custom pieces. If you are looking for Philip Stein sleep bracelets, Bremont or Breitling watches, or John Hardy handmade sterling silver from Bali, the DI Watch and Design store has it all. Ask for Ulises — he is the expert there.

Milano Diamond Gallery — Dancing Diamonds and Mark Henry

Milano is where you will find the Dancing Diamonds, the Glow of the Caribbean reversible omega necklace, and the Mark Henry Alexandrite collection. Herbey is the Mark Henry ambassador — he can show you the natural alexandrite that shifts from green to red. Milano also has the only Le Vian boutique in the world, featuring chocolate diamonds, white diamonds, and rubies in the signature Le Vian style.

Touch of Gold — Fernando and the Bella Necklace

Fernando is the manager at Touch of Gold, and they call him the Brain of Cozumel for a reason. The Bella necklace is their standout piece — 10k and 14k gold, beautifully crafted. Skip the silver and go for gold here.

Tanzanite International — The 183-Carat Stone

Tanzanite International has one of the largest tanzanite stones in the world — 183 carats — on display for guests to see. For comparison, the Smithsonian has a 123-carat stone. It is worth stepping in just to see it, and if you are in the market for tanzanite, this is the place.

DelSol and Cariloha — Fun and Comfort

DelSol has color-changing t-shirts and sunglasses that are always a hit. Cariloha has bamboo sheets and mattresses — twice as soft as cotton and three degrees cooler. If you have been thinking about upgrading your bedding, this is your chance.

Local Flavors — Mayan Fiesta, Spice and Tea, and 3 Amigos

Mayan Fiesta has fresh rum cakes and vanilla, with a VIP card that gives you 15% off the entire store plus a free rum cake tasting. Spice and Tea Market is run by wonderful ladies — ask for Brenda. They sell 100% organic teas and spices, and the VIP card gives you 10% off. If you are docking at Puerta Maya, stop by 3 Amigos for tequila and great food.

Viva Mexico has a fantastic selection of local souvenirs and pottery. Look for the Mexican Survival Kit — it is a fun and practical gift to bring home.

Shop Early

One tip I give every guest: shop early in the morning. If you are buying a ring that needs sizing, the jeweler needs time to do the work. The ship will leave without you — plan accordingly.
